Welcome Prof. Jian-Guo Dai from Hong Kong Polytechnic University to be a keynote speaker!

Jian-Guo Dai, Ir Professor of Structural Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He obtained his Ph.D. from Hokkaido University in 2003. He is the recipient of several academic awards including the "Best Basic Research Paper Award" from ASCE, Journal of Composites for Construction in 2005, "Distinguished Young Scholar Award" from the Association of FRP for Construction, China Society of Civil Engineers in 2011, and “Structural Excellence Grand Award” from Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in 2019. His major research fields include FRP composites in construction, durability, surface protection and life cycle maintenance of concrete infrastructures, and low-carbon and green cementitious composites.

Prof Dai is an Editor of Advances in Structural Engineering, an Associate Editor of Journal of Advanced Concrete Technology and a Vice Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Asian Concrete Federation. He is the Chair of Technical Board of Asian Concrete Federation and a Vice President of the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC). He is a Fellow of IIFC, Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and Hong Kong Concrete Institute (HKCI). He has published more than 260 technical papers (including 110 SCI papers) in the above-mentioned fields (with 2270 citations and h-index of 26 at Web of Science as of 23 March 2020).
